The fellowship will allow Reichert to work with other vice presidents for research at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Auburn University and Iowa State University.

“I was excited and surprised, especially given how competitive the program is,” Reichert 说.

The fellowship program is designed to provide training and skill development to individuals who work closely in various capacities as or with the University’s chief research 官.

Reichert, who was an assistant research professor at the U.S. 海军学院直到 2010, hopes to increase his knowledge of research administration and develop skills focusing on specialized Department of Defense contracts, establishment of shared instrumentation 中心和公私伙伴关系. 

“I will be visiting other universities within and outside the state to better understand how these programs are established and managed,” he 说.

“I have always had a passion for research and building collaborations,” he 说. “As a faculty member, I have been able to develop my skills in grantsmanship and building 研究合作. I saw this position as an opportunity to use my experiences to help build collaborations across campus, in the community, and with other universities.”
